University of Cape Coast (UCC) Boosts Security with New Vehicle

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has bolstered its security capabilities with the addition of a new Toyota Land Cruiser to its existing fleet of vehicles.

The four-wheel drive, which was handed over by the management of the University to the Security Section, will enable the security personnel to conduct more effective patrols and surveillance on campus and in the neighbouring areas.

The Registrar of the University, Mr. Jeff Onyame, who presented the keys to the vehicle at the Institute of Education, said that the management was determined to provide a safe and secure environment for the staff and students of the University.

He urged the staff and students to cooperate with the security officers and to report any suspicious activities or incidents to them.

Mr. Onyame also pledged the management’s continued support to the Security Section in terms of logistics and equipment, saying that the protection of lives and properties was a priority for the University.

He advised the Security Section to take good care of the vehicle and to use it for its intended purpose only.

The Director of the Directorate of Consular and General Services, Mrs. Alberta Yaa Graham, who received the vehicle on behalf of the Security Section, thanked the management for the generous gesture.

She said that the vehicle would enhance the mobility and efficiency of the security officers in carrying out their duties.

Mrs. Graham assured the management that the vehicle would be used wisely and responsibly to help curb crime on campus and in the surrounding communities.

The Head of the Security Section, Col. Joseph Kojo Baah-Tsiquaye (rtd.), also expressed his gratitude to the management for the support given to his unit.

He said that the vehicle would be serviced regularly and kept in good condition.

Col. Baah-Tsiquaye also assured the staff and students that the Security Section would work tirelessly to make the campus a peaceful and secure place for everyone.

He appealed to other sections and units of the University as well as individuals and organisations to assist the Security Section with basic tools and resources to improve its operations.
