The ministerial nominations span critical sectors of governance, with eleven new Ministers of State appointed to various portfolios: Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah has been nominated for the Ministry of Defence, while Samuel Nartey George, MP, is slated to lead the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, MP, has been nominated to oversee the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
In the sports sector, Kofi Iddie Adams, MP, has been appointed to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, while Abdul-Rashid H. Pelpuo, MP, will head the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment. The health sector will be under the leadership of Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, MP.
The environmental portfolio will be managed by Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, MP, as Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, while Joseph Bukari Nikpe, MP, will oversee the Ministry of Transport. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, MP, has been nominated for the Ministry of Interior, and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP, will lead the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Adjei Kenneth Gilbert rounds out the ministerial appointments as nominee for the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.
The administration has also appointed three Regional Ministers: Puozuing Charles Lwanga for Upper West, Joseph Addae Akwaboa for Bono, and Francis Owusu Antwi for Bono East.
Additionally, three Ministers of State have been designated for specialized roles: Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, MP, for Special Initiatives; Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, for Government Communications; and Issifu Seidu, MP, for Climate Change and Sustainability.
These appointments demonstrate President Mahama's commitment to diverse representation and expertise across various sectors of governance. The nominees will undergo parliamentary vetting and approval processes, as required by Ghana's constitutional framework.
