Ms. Justina Nelson Appointed CEO of MIIF

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Ms. Justina Nelson as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Income and Investment Fund (MIIF). The appointment, announced Tuesday by the Presidency Communications office, is made in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 21(2) of the MIIF Act.

Ms. Nelson brings extensive financial sector expertise to this crucial role, with over two decades of experience in banking and investment. She currently serves as Group Head at Zenith Bank Ghana Limited, where she oversees both Energy and Commercial Banking divisions, demonstrating her capability to manage complex financial portfolios.

Her academic credentials are particularly noteworthy for this position. Ms. Nelson holds dual master's degrees from the University of Ghana - a Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing. This unique combination of legal and business expertise positions her well to navigate the complex world of mineral resource management and investment.

Further strengthening her qualifications, Ms. Nelson completed her undergraduate studies with honors, earning a Bachelor of Laws from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Psychology from the University of Ghana.

The MIIF, established under Act 978 in 2018, plays a pivotal role in Ghana's resource governance framework. The fund is responsible for managing and investing the country's mineral wealth, making this appointment particularly significant for Ghana's economic future.

Ms. Nelson's diverse skill set in banking, law, and business administration suggests a balanced approach to managing Ghana's mineral resources for long-term economic benefit.
