24VGMA: Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Announces New Date and Nominations Review

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA)  is an annual event that celebrates the outstanding contributions of Ghanaian musicians to the growth and development of the music industry. It is organized by CharterHouse and sponsored by Vodafone Ghana.

The board of the VGMA has made some important announcements regarding the 2023 edition of the prestigious music awards event. On April 05, the VGMA issued a press release via their Twitter handle. 

The main points of the press release are:

Firstly, the board has decided to revoke the nomination of musician Jay Bahd for the Best New Artiste category. The reason for this decision is that Jay Bahd was not eligible for this category, as he had already received a shared nomination on Yaw Tog’s ‘Sore’ for Collaboration of the Year in 2021. The board has apologized for this oversight and has communicated with Jay Bahd and his team accordingly.

Secondly, the board has announced that the grand finale of the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards will now take place on the 6th of May, 2023 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre. This is a change from the previous date of May 13, 2023.

Finally, the board expressed its gratitude to all the stakeholders who submitted their concerns and suggestions regarding the awards scheme. The board also invites anyone with more ideas or feedback to send an email to info@ghanamusicawards.com.
