The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has refuted a false publication that circulated on social media platforms, claiming that the prices for residential halls on UCC campus have been increased. The management of the university issued a press release on 14th September, 2023 to clarify the issue and advise the public to disregard the false information.

According to the press release, signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (Rtd.), the prices for residential halls on UCC campus have not been changed since the 2022/2023 academic year. The document also states that any information different from or inconsistent with its main topic or purpose is false and should be disregarded.

The press release was published on the official website of UCC and also announced on the campus radio station, ATL FM. The management of the university also expressed its commitment to providing affordable accommodations for students.

UCC is one of the leading public universities in Ghana, located in the Central Region. The university comprises of eight residential halls, namely Adehye Hall, Atlantic Hall, Casley Hayford Hall, Kwame Nkrumah Hall, Oguaa Hall, Valco Hall, Superannuation hall and SRC hall. The campus also hosts various academic and administrative facilities, as well as recreational and social activities for students and staff.

The university offers over 200 programmes of study at the undergraduate, masters and doctorate levels. The university is also known for its research and innovation, and hosts the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience.
